- Pick up from your hotel at 6:30 am
- Travel through Andean landscapes and Amazon jungle
- Pass Ollantaytambo, ascend to Abra Malaga (4,316m/13,832ft)
- Descend to Santa Maria village, then head to Santa Teresa
- Lunch in Santa Teresa with local ingredients
- Continue to the hydroelectric plant
- 2.5-hour hike to Aguas Calientes
- Arrival at Aguas Calientes around 5:30-6:00 pm
- Check-in at hostel and dinner
- Briefing for the next day’s Machu Picchu visit
Day 2: Visit to Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary - Return to Cusco
Day 2: Visit to Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary - Return to Cusco
- Two options to reach Machu Picchu:
- Bus (leaves at 5:30 am, arrive 30 minutes early)
- Walking (start at 4:30 am, 1.5-hour hike)
- Sunrise view at Machu Picchu, followed by 2-hour guided tour
- After the tour, hike back to the hydroelectric station
- Bus to Cusco departs at 2:30 pm
- Arrival at Cusco’s Regocijos Square around 8:30-9:00 pm
- If visiting Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, return by train or spend 2 nights in Aguas Calientes.

- Round-trip tourist bus from Cusco to Aguas Calientes and back
